RE: The New ABC’s of Life for Children and Adults (ABC’s Ministries, 2016) Now Available

Date: April 23, 2016

After readers of The ABC’s of Life for Children and Adults: Short Stories, Essays, and Poems Promoting Christian Concepts (Xulon Press, 2003) encouraged Pamela K. Orgeron (aka, Owens) to write a follow-up to her first book, she brought this request to fruition this year. Rather than working with a publisher for her second book project, Ms. Orgeron self-published through her own business ABC’s Ministries while working with IngramSpark, La Vergne, TN for her printing and distribution needs.

The New ABC’s of Life for Children and Adults: Short Stories, Essays, and Poems Promoting Christian Concepts (ABC’s Ministries, 2016) is now available at bookstores upon request, on the Web at www.amazon.com and www.barnesandnoble.com, and from the author. Her second writing project is a revised and expanded edition of the short stories, essays and poems promoting Christian concepts, such as honesty, sharing, and forgiveness that were shared in The ABC’s of Life for Children and Adults. ABC’s is an acronym for Abolishing apathetic attitudes; Building Biblical behavior patterns; and, Choosing Christ-like character.

Since her first book's publication, Ms. Orgeron has acquired an even greater and more urgent desire to share the themes of Abolishing apathetic attitudes; Building Biblical behavior patterns; and, Choosing Christ-like character, which are  depicted throughout the contents of both books. The first edition of this book concluded with ABC's TO SUCCESSFUL LIVING, positive qualities she encourages others to adopt. This new edition gives more relevance to these qualities by placing the list at the beginning of the book.

The author divides The New ABC's of Life into three sections.  Stories in section one, "Fiction for the Children" would appeal to the younger reader; however, adults also will enjoy reading this section. Nonfiction material in section two, "Lessons Learned from Life's Realities", developed from experiences in the author's life, or the lives of individuals influential in her life.  Older readers will benefit more from this section. Section three, “Moments from the Heart”, contains the lyrics of a collection of songs written by the author.  In addition, this section includes poems written by her father the late Elder Harry M. Owens and mother Patricia Sturgill Owens of Russell, KY, and by Ms. Orgeron herself.

A native of Ashland, KY, Ms. Orgeron graduated from Fairview High School (Westwood, KY), from Ashland Community College with an associate degree, from Marshall University (Huntington, WV) with a bachelor’s degree in journalism-public relations, and is certified with the Institute of Children’s Literature, West Redding, CT. In 2003 she received an M.A. in Adult and Higher Education, Counseling Specialization from Morehead State University, Morehead, KY. She also has an Advanced Diploma in Biblical Counseling from Light University, Forest, VA. Ms. Orgeron has worked for Boyd County Public Library and King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY and for Jean and Alexander Heard Library at Vanderbilt University, Harris Publishing, and Thomas Nelson Publishers in Nashville, TN.

Over the twelve plus years since publishing The ABC's of Life for Children and Adults, Ms. Orgeron said God has blessed her with personal, academic, and professional achievements above and beyond what she expected. “Personally, the Lord sent me a wonderful, godly husband in Milton J. Orgeron who, like me, is not perfect but who is perfect for me.  Academically, I have been blessed to complete, in addition to the previously received Master of Arts degree, an Education Specialist degree in 2009, also from Morehead State University in the field of Adult and Higher Education, Counseling Specialization. Professionally, I have added to my credentials Board Certified Christian Counselor (BCCC), Advanced Christian Life Coach (ACLC) and General Partner along with my husband in ABC's Ministries”, she said.

While Ms. Orgeron has seen progress personally, she said, “I see a lot of decay in the moral compass of the United States of America and around the world since I published the first edition of The ABC's of Life for Children and Adults. I believe that without revival among the churches and a fresh spiritual awakening among lost souls our nation is doomed for destruction like we have never seen before.”
